one year.

First off I owe a big apology to my avid readers. I have been making promises to write this post for months, but could never seem to find the time. But since our first wedding anniversary is TODAY {!!!!!!!!!!} I thought that now was the perfect opportunity.

Yes, I did say today! Can you believe it?!?

Many of you have wrote me asking for details and photos of our wedding. First of all, thank you so much for your wonderful comments and thoughts. Our wedding day was everything that we could have ever imagined, and it's so great to know that others enjoyed it as well. =)

Here is one e-mail that stands out to me. I'm so sorry Brooke that I am just getting around to this. She wrote me in JULY!

"WOW your pictures/wedding was awesome! I love the use of the oranges in the centerpieces what a great idea. I have a bride I'm working with that was wanting to use orange BM dresses, but did not know how to pull it all together with the pink. Your wedding is what she is wanting to a tee. And your dress was to die for. Is it a Reem? Also can you send me a picture of the center pieces. I could not right click it to save one. Again thanks for letting me look at your pics! ~Brooke"

Wow Brooke. Thank you so much. Every girl deserves to be as flattered as this at some point in their lives. =) When planning our wedding, I wasn't really too worried about anything because I knew that was meant to be would just come to us. This is exactly what happened with the pink & orange. I saw one flower arrangement and I knew right then that was exactly what I wanted-- everything just fell into place from there. Here is my bouquet- exactly what I wanted. The wrap is actually my baby bonnet {something old} and my rosary from my grandmother {also something old, and also blue!}

I can still remember telling people that our colors were pink & orange and getting sort of strange looks, but at the reception, I think every single one of those people told me that they were amazed with the color scheme. =)

As for the bridesmaid dresses... I was with my sister trying on wedding gowns and the attendant at the store asked what our colors were. I told her and she came running back with one bridesmaid dress. My sister tried it on there & then. And that was that. I still, to this day, wish that I had one for myself. Haha.

But I was very happy with my dress. ;) It was actually by Private Label by G. I know I keep saying it over and over, but once again- the second that I put the dress on, I knew that it was mine. A feeling that every girl should have. =)

The oranges in the centerpeices were an inexpensive and unique way to add color to the room. I had seen limes used before and I just thought that it was so neat, unique and fresh. That was one of my favorite things at our reception. And they smelled so good too!

Honestly, I can't even believe how our day went off without a hitch! Our amazing family and friends made sure of it. We are so very lucky.

Our amazing wedding party:

We stopped in at the bowling alley where we had our first date. =)

There were so many little details that I couldn't even try to explain everything. We have taken our time collecting things and ideas that meant something to us. We wanted our day to be reflective of us and not just a carbon copy of someone else's ideas. I am proud to say that we achieved that with flying colors. Everything about our day was perfect. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

My best advice to any bride-to-be is to follow your heart. I can honestly say that we have not a single regret from our wedding day, because we followed our hearts. What more could you ask for?

And since it is our first wedding anniversary, I think I am entitled to a little bit of mush. I honestly don't know how I am so lucky that this is my life. I honestly can't believe that people say the first of marriage is the hardest, because this year has been absolute bliss! If that is really the case then we sure have a great marriage to look forward to. In fact, I know we do. Happy anniversary baby!!! Lalu.
