random thoughts for this lovely, gloomy, rainy friday!

my new favorite blog: here.

i'm loving these velvet pumpkins:

we are going out for sushi tonight
to celebrate my dear kathy's birthday.

i am starting a book club
and i am really rather excited about it.
any must have's that you can suggest?

this came out today and i am dying to see it.
but of course it's not here yet. sad.
john krasinski+benjamin gibbard=hell yes!!

i am very excited about our quiet little weekend that we have planned.
getting some things done around the house
and just being with the people that we love,
watching fall roll right in.
can't beat that.

ahhhh... it's official. it's fall.
amongst all of my favorite things that fall brings,
fall tv is at the top of my list.
it's so nice to just stay in, curl up on the couch with your family,
sip a hot tea, and indulge in other people's fabulous lives.

so far this year i have been impressed with the shows again & again.

first off, of course, is one tree hill.
while it is very different this season, i am easing myself into it.

i will always love one tree hill,
but i think that this season is going to be spectacular.
i'm just ready to be a few more episodes into it
so i can forget all about leyton and other miniscule details that they aren't touching on.
and p.s. mark- will you please stop putting naley through the ringer?

a new show that i am already addicted to
- no surprise here -
is vampire diaries.
i went into it thinking i would hate it and it's twilight-wannabe tendencies.
but boy, was i wrong?!
it does have similar storylines as twilight,
but it is completely different.
i love steffan and elena.
i even went to borders last week and got the first book so i can read the series too.
as of right now, this is the show that i actually can't stand waiting for during the week.

the office is rocking this season.
after so many years of jim and pam torture, i swear this season was made for me!
i am loving the wedding stuff, and of course the pregnancy.
they just light up the show so far this season and i love all of the attention on them.
and of course michael's antics- last night was particularly hilarious,
but yet a very series situation at the same time.
gosh, i love this show.

and how cute is this?

and last night was also the season opener of grey's!
i think i cried a total of 20 times and laughed 20 times so it evened out.
i have watched this show since day 1 and i always will.
i love each and every single character in their own quirky way.
i am so sad that george is gone, but i loved how they showed how everyone dealt with his death so differently- so true of life.
my favorites are izzie and alex, especially now since they are married!

geesh... so much good stuff going on, this doesn't even touch on everything!
i'm loving gossip girl- the college years too.
so different, but i love it! you always wondered what would happen
to the characters when they were thrown into a real-life scenario and now we know!

that is all for now!
be sure to set your dvr's so you don't miss any of the goods!

oh, ruche!

you are simply delectable and i can not get enough of your clothes.
dresses. scarves. boots. mittens. sweaters. earrings.
i want it all...

what are you waiting for?
their stuff sells out so quickly
and i already have as much as my bank account will allow.

happy shopping.

no time. no time. no time.

i just can't catch up lately.
i am moving at a million miles a minute,
but just can't seem to cram it all in.

which certainly means i haven't had much time
for any leisure activities:

yep, that's really my reader.
if you think that's bad you should see my laundry situation.
i'm getting there though....

however, we did have a fun-filled weekend.
we celebrated our anniversary on friday night
and it was perfect.
we made fondue at home for the first time

which turned out amazing.
the first and last time either of us had fondue was on our honeymoon
so that will always be a special meal for us.
we threw a ton of blankets on the living room floor
and cuddled up - with G too of course -
and watched movies all night,
slowly grazing the fondue.

G wanted some real bad..

and i also had a replica of our top tier of wedding cake made
from the same place that made our wedding cake.

it was soooooooo good
- we're still eating it -
and totally worth the $20.

on saturday night we attended bachelor/bachelorette
parties for andrew & stacey!
the girls' party was 80s themed and we went all out!
can you find me??

it was a great night,
but i sure paid for it on sunday.
i slept in until 10:30
- sooooo late for me -
ran a couple errands & picked up some wings,
came home & we watched the Vikings game.
then I fell asleep,
yes i actually took a nap
- again, never happens -
and when i woke up it was 4:00.
did a few things around the house
then it was time for dinner
and the emmy's/cowboys game
and back to bed!

a great, great weekend but i am paying for it now.
oh well.
that's what weekends are for, right?

head on over to rhianne's lovely blog this morning
to check out my guest post while she enjoys a little vaca.

i'm sure it's pretty evident that a lot of things in life easily distract me,
but i was able to narrow it down to a top 5.

thanks for having me rhianne!

some random thoughts for this lovelywednesday...

:: this is what my saturday looked like...

pretty, but busy

:: i love strawberry poptarts for breakfast.

:: can't believe how many phoenix songs have been featured in season premieres this week.
i swear it's because of my never-ending recs on twitter to music directors.

:: i need to find a cute thermos for my coffee every morning
because one mug full simply isn't enough.

:: our anniversary was wonderful, but i can't wait to celebrate again on friday.

:: i am motivated to get my house clean and organized and to keep it that way.
sherry's post helped a lot; i'm currently making my own schedule.

:: this is one of my favorite movie quotes..

:: i have every intention of doing my OTH recap, oh how I have missed them.
just waiting till I have enough time.

:: i wish i could throw out all my clothes and start over.
well maybe not all of them.

:: i can't find my copy of this book from my childhood,
so i am waiting for the next Borders coupon so that i can buy it.
i have to own it again, the movie previews are making me miss it.
unless you have a secret place for me to look mom?

:: i want to add some new products to the shop this fall.
all i can think of is notecards and stationary.
i really need to put my thinking cap on.

:: i'm also almost ready to start teaching myself how to knit.
and i'm very excited about this.
any good recommendations? youtube videos? etc?

:: sometimes i feel very used and taken for granted.
and that's a terrible thing.
but i'm starting to realize how much stronger i am now than ever before.
a few years back i would have been devestated and depressed.
and now i just simply realize that it shouldn't have that big of an impact on me.
and while it hurts, i'm strong enough now to let it go.

:: words to live by

:: i've been trying really, really hard to stay away from soda.
it's been tough, but i've actually been doing great.
however on the off chance that a mexican coca-cola is offered to me,
that would be an exception.

:: my hopefully-fixed camera should be delivered today.
and i can't remember the last time i was so excited.

:: i have been making real, actually-cooked dinners lately. crazy, right?
we're talking pot roasts, italian beef, taco soup & cornbread from scratch.
i don't know what has gotten into me... but our bellies are happy.

that's all for now.  i feel like everything in my life lately is coming in little bits & scatters
and that is quite apparent on the blog.
but i'm working on organizing my life.
i will get there at some point.

my how time flies....

two years ago today i married the love of my life.
it's hard to believe it's been that long
because i still remember every little detail from that day.
at the time i didn't think it could possibly get any better,
but i was so very wrong.
and i have my hunky, handsome, sweet-as-sugar husband to thank for that.
happy anniversary bubbie.
i love this little life that we have created together
i love how much you love me.
and i love how much fun we have when we're together.
i can't wait to spend my the rest of my life laughing with you.

i finally saw this darling little film over the weekend.
i absolutely positively over-the-moon loved it.

i can't even believe for a second that the reviews on it were so mixed.
i don't want to give away a lot {but minor spoilers below}.
but i thought it was perfect.

the photography, the music, the majestic feeling of L.A.,
the romance, the ikea shopping, the wardrobes, the lighting, the story,
the voiceover, the animations, absolutely e v e r y t h i n g.
this little beaut just shot it's way into my top 5 favorite movies.

i personally thought that it played out just the way it should have.
both amazing characters took what they needed from their relationship.
and isn't that what it's all about?

trust me: you don't want to miss out on this amazing 95 minutes of your life.
go and see it. and laugh & cry & sing & smile with me.
i officially can't wait for the dvd release.

Tom: What happens when you fall in love?
Summer: You believe that?
Tom: It's love, not Santa Claus.

my brain is currently too overloaded to put together an actual post.
so this is more like fragments of what is currently running around up there.
i'm so happy it's friday. for a short week it was really very long.

i am finally going to see this tonight. finally. it's about time.

tomorrow night we have lots of plans in the air...
one of which is to attend the drive-in movie theatre to see this & this.
another involves tickets to an amazing, amazing art show's opening night.
hmmmmm.... decisions/decisions.

my drive to work in the morning is one of my favorite parts of the day.
just me, my piping hot coffee, and my music jamming.

i love diana even more for posting this today. she is so lovely.
thank you darling.
and seeing what people are commenting is making me seriously tear up!

wearing lipstick makes me feel good.
i'm vowing to wear lipstick everyday for the rest of september.
today i am wearing this in passion fruit, but i see a lot of red in my future.

this song is the soundtrack for my day today.
my neighbors already know this because they watched me jamming out
to it while driving down the street this morning.

i must buy the beatles rock band immediately. must.

my husband is the most amazing artist. he can sketch like nobody's business.
sadly, he doesn't take the time to do it a lot because he needs a little extra push from me.
well last night he sketched a couple of my cameras, and they are so amazing.
thinking about adding them to the shop....

speaking of which, the summer sale is a huge hit so far.
and particularly the prints of G which he is quite proud of.
in fact, he has insisted on sleeping in our bed this past week
and i think that is the reason behind that one. little buger.

today was great. visits from my momma and jennifer at work all in the same day.
i love my ladies.

today is a day about remembrance. but we musn't forget to remember
those that we lost and those that they left behind everyday.
it's hard to believe it's been 8 years.

i bought a moleskine pocket journal {with grid paper} this week
- thanks to my loverly kristy's suggestion -
and i'm milding obsessed with writing in it.
i should have gotten two...

new fall tv so far has not disappointed me at all.
i love glee so much i get giddy just saying the name.

melrose place was good. not the most amazing pilot, but i think i will like it.
i love costas {from sisterhood of the traveling pants} and his fiance on the show!

on the other hand, vampire diaries, was an amazing pilot and i love this show already.
i must buy the books this weekend.

and i am wearing this shirt today..
and i love it sooooo much.
it's loose-ish, and the just fits adorable.
i love the length of the sleeves & the stripe color choices.
love it.

i think that is all for now.
i'm sure there will be more later.
as always.

have a great weekend.

oh, etsy.
i think you and i have a serious problem.
i keep clicking 'commit to buy' and my bank account is getting mad at me!
why are you so darn irrisitable?

i've already received this adorable headband from heart of light's shop.
i love it soooooooo much:
and everything else in her shop for that matter.

and the lovely owner at owlsay has already shipped me a custom-made
checkbook cover & business card holder in this adorable pattern:
my loosely-floating business cards will thank her upon it's arrival.
but i can already forsee me writing way too many checks just to admire it's pretty cover.

i currently have this baby sitting in my cart
trying to resist the urge to buy but i actually need a new notebook
so i am slowly convincing myself that this is a practical purchase:

and lastly because i have to close etsy now,
i have been admiring these polaroid ring sets from jerseymaids
ever since they made their grand debut:
oh how my fingers are longing for the mouse to send these
pretty babies on their way to me.
but i am holding out for raevyn's giveaway
with hopes that i just might win.
{{{fingers crossed}}}

are you as addicted as i am?
what are your favorite shops?
warning: my husband may track you down & yell for telling me.

today is a day for wishing. it is 09.09.09.

i wish for a day of nothing but relaxing. i wish for a healthy friend.
i wish for an endless supply of polaroid film. i wish for a miracle.
i wish for a vacation to paris. i wish for growth of my wee little shop.
i wish for falling leaves. i wish for a new teakettle. i wish for the diana mini.
i wish for curly hair. i wish for my camera back.
i wish to see the world. i wish for a freshly-painted kitchen.
i wish to hear the new death cab song. i wish for fate to take its course.
i wish for kind people in my life. i wish for happiness for my sisters.
i wish for pretty fingernails. i wish for opportunity.
i wish to live in portland someday. i wish for the ability to bake.
i wish for more stars in the sky to light up the night.

i wish i may, i wish i might...

can't stop my heart from pitter-pattering at the moment.
i just saw this...

and i am so in love.
the diana mini
oh my. more pitter-pattering.

not only is she mini & fits perfectly in your back pocket at all times,
but she uses.... wait for it....
35 mm film!
this isn't even the best part,
hard to believe i know!
you can choose to shoot 36 shots of square photos
- or -
72 rectangular half frames!

oh my goodness. oh my goodness.

the possibilities are endless.
with film so readily available...
panoramics. multi exposures. cross processing. long time exposures.
oh happy day.

buy yours here.
but wait for me to get mine first.
