I'm such a bag lady.

Thursday, January 31, 2008

I litterally have at least 60 bags.... and I think I still need more. I don't know what my obsession is with bags?!?! But low and behold- I found a new favorite one. Usually I switch them up quite often, but every once in a while I find one bag that I don't want to ever switch. After a stop at my good 'ol Macy's... there it was. I LOVE the shoes and bags by Jessica Simpson. Call her what you want- but the woman has taste. I had previously purchased a black satchel of hers that I loved, but for a the past few months was longing after a simple, more traditional, everyday neutral bag.

Honestly, the picture does not do this bag justice. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Delicate leather- just the right amount of hardware & zippers, and fits on my shoulder just right. I LOVE it and have gotten a gajillion compliments on this baby. You have to see it in person to truly appreciate it's beauty. The flash in the photos makes it look shiny, but it's really not. I'm just too lazy to take pictures myself.

Forever 21.

... is my weakness. Their Web site is jam-packed with chic, fashionable, brilliantly-priced peices that I can't stand to pass up!! Their prices are truly unbeatable and I have such a hard resisting. I can't even BROWSE their site unless I know I have some extra cash because browsing will result in a purchase. I have recently been getting into more feminine pieces and their site is filled with them. Yesterday I had to check out their new items and low and behold... see my shopping cart below. =)

I was in love with Katherine Heigl's tiny heart necklace in '27 Dresses' and was thrilled when I found this one:

A few mediallions that I love:

Some simple earrings:
A couple of very feminine bangles that I love:
This top looks adorable on:
I adore this cardigan in peach! It will look great with my tiny heart pendant:

Again, this jacket looks adorable on. Can't wait to wear it with some dark jeans and a black or white tank under:
There was another adorable ruffle shirt in my cart that I got, but for some reason is no longer on the site. I will have to post a picture of it when my packages arrives... yay!! It shipped yesterday- I can't wait to wear all my new peices. And lucky for you- I hyperlinked all of the photos to the product themselves so that you can too can look as chic as me. ;) Husbands be ware. HaHa.

And don't forget to add product #2047098942 to your cart for a free t-shirt!

New Favorite Blog.

Thanks to fellow nestie bryn, I have found my new favorite blog! It is AMAZING and I can't wait to check the new post each morning!!! I have always been addicted to celebrity styles and fashions... although I know I could never afford most of it. Thanks to Frugal Fashionista... the cost-effective peices are shown with links right to the products!!! Ohhhh... my husband is not going to like this. =) Below are a few of my favorite recent outfits....

As promised.

Monday, January 28, 2008

I promised a review of "27 Dresses" and here I am to give it. I absolutely adored this film! A bit predictable at times, yes, but I enjoyed every second of it. I am a sucker for romantic comedies and with one of my favorite actresses, Katherine Heigl, starring- this was a sure hit for me. The hubby even enjoyed it and gave in to a few one-liners. =)

And I have to say, that 'Jane's' wardrobe was to die for! Understated and sophisticated... I LOVED it!! See picture below of one of my favorite outfits. I haven't had much luck searching for pictures or any seen-on features yet though. But I will be sure to clue you in if I do.

The soundtrack was also incredible. I haven't yet picked up the released version so I'm not sure which tunes they included... but I'm guessing that 'Bennie and the Jets' is a sure track.

The Bucket List.

Sunday, January 27, 2008

This time I actually have a great excuse to why I have posted in so long. I spent the entire week last week in Atlanta attending meetings and training for work. It was a LONG week... but I managed to have a lot of fun while there- despite the fact that I missed my boys like crazy. Another thing that I hate about business trips is that you can't spend your free time how you would chose to. Instead of being able to get a fancy meal and go back to my room and catch an HBO movie or head to the mall- I had obligations to attend functions with co-workers that were there. Thus, I got hardly any sleep which makes paying attention in meetings a challange. And don't even get me started on my flights home... why is it that my flights going to these meetings always work out- but when it's time for me to come it is near impossible??

In any event- I finally made it home late Friday night and was instantly comforted by my boys. Gosh, I missed them. Saturday we all slept in and then eventually got up and ran a few errands. We then had plans to catch dinner and a movie with Andrew & Jennifer... and "The Bucket List" was on our agenda. Brian has been dying to see this movie for a while, and it definitely lived up to our expectations. It was a truly unique, heartfelt, amazing story and made me thinik about all the things I hope to accomplish in life before I 'kick the bucket.' I think I will start a list for myself.....

Today we have plans to see another movie, "27 Dresses" with Andrew & Stacey. HaHa. I love going to the movies, but yes this normally would be a bit much- but I am dying to see "27 Dresses" so I don't care. =) I will fill you in on my opinions post-show.

I'm so glad to be home.

The weekend.

Saturday, January 19, 2008

I ended up getting Friday off of work. It worked out nicely since Brian happened to have the day off also. We made plans to prime the bedroom, sort through some clothes, etc. and ended up spending the whole day, all three of us, plopped on the couch. Honestly, I wouldn't have had it any other way. =) Sure- I wish we could have gotten some stuff done, but it was so nice to just relax for a day with my family. Guinness honestly slept the entire day and I have pictures to prove it.... (warning: he sleeps in absolutely ridiculous positions.)

I told you so. I have more, but I think you get the idea. Anyway, today I have lots of odds and ends I need to get done since we didn't do anything yesterday. Just had to post some pics of my baby. =) Tonight we are bowling.. yah! I haven't gone in ages so this should be interesting....

Cold Comfort.

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Now that Christmas has passed, we are officially entering the “only gets colder” time of year. I must say that it's not my favorite. The weeks leading up to Christmas, it can get as cold as it wants, because Christmas is coming, so it doesn't matter. Now we have nothing to look forward to except Spring showers and flowers.... which won't be coming for months! It seems that winter lasts forever.

Below are some of my staples for bearing the cold this season….

Starbucks Carmel Machiato's.
Chicken Noodle Soup with extra noodles.
Red wine, particularly Shiraz.
Mittens.
Movies that warm your heart... i.e. The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Juno, P.S. I Love You, Because I Said So, The Holiday...
A huge, comfy, cozy down blanket.
Slippers.
Saturday night drinking games with close friends (in their warm apartment!) i.e. Andrew & Stacey. =)
Lots of lots of books... i.e. The Winter of our Discontent (my personal winter favorite)
Fireplaces.
Automatic Start Vehicles.
Really cute scarves.
Hot Cocoa with teeny marshmellows.
Crockpot recipes.
Really strong heat vents.
Football Sundays.
And my personal favorite... watch my puppy play in the snow for the first time....
How cute is he?? =)

Lots happening...

Wow.. it has been a long time and a lot of stuff going on. Not even sure that I can cover everything... between Christmas, New Years, Guinness growing, friends getting engaged and everything else, the past couple of months have been a whirlwind. I at least want to post some pictures, so that everyone knows we are still alive. =)

Here is our family Christmas picture:

Guinness in his favorite spot: in front of the heat vent.
A recent one of the hubby and myself:

Happy New Year! CHEERS.

I promised not to make resolutions for the year. Last year was so amazing for us that I didn't see how any resolutions could make my life better. But I do promise to start blogging more... it's a goal that I hope to meet... at least a few times a month.

Guinness continues to grow everyday! He weighs almost 30 lbs now and will turn 5 months old on the 19th! He really knows his routine now and looks forward to spending time with his mom & dad, as do we. =)

As I mentioned before, several of our friends have gotten engaged now! It's very exciting for us to witness these happy times with our friends, just as they were all there for us. A huge congrats to Jennifer & Andrew, Missy & Mike and Kayla & Jesse!
You can witness the love of Jennifer and Andrew below from New Years Eve... =)

We are also thrilled that Andrew & Stacey are living in town again, so now we really do get to see them every weekend. =)

2008 has already been very eventfilled for us, and we know that it will continue to be. Stay tuned and I promise to keep you updated on our crazy, loving lives.
