This original print titled "The Lullaby" by Bessie Pease from 1949 hung in my nursery in a beautiful gold frame. It has also since hung in both of my sisters' rooms as well and currently resides in my parents upstairs hallway. My mom recently told me that she wants me to have it when we have our firstborn. Which moves me so much. There is really nothing super special about it, but just looking at it brings me a feeling of instant comfort. Must be all of those years staring at it when I was suppose to be napping. I can't wait to have the honor of hopefully hanging it in our children's nursery.
Brian and I have already decided that when and if we do get pregnant, we do not want to find out the sex of the baby. Call us old-school if you must. But there is just something so special about hearing "it's a boy" or "it's a girl" in that special moment after the birth that I don't want to pass up. For this reason, I have for the past few years collected a few images of gender-neutral nurseries. It will be extremely hard for me to prepare for a baby of an unknown gender because I am a planner, but I hope I can make it work.

I really love both of those nurseries. And big surprise... we have been working on a baby name list for the past several years too. Just jotting names that we like when we hear them....
Girls: Haley Joy, Isabel, Lorelai, Peyton, Joy
Boys: Carter, Theisen, Brody, Owen, Jude
Of course this changes all the time. But it's so fun to think about. I know that our time will eventually come and I can only hope that we are able to have healthy, happy babies of our own. But in the meantime I'll catch ya on the BOTB board!

Hi, I started reading your blog a bit ago and just had to comment on your baby name list. :)
My husband's fave baby name is Hailey as well! And I think it's funny because a lot of your fave names are the same as names on One Tree Hill (which I know you love from reading your blog!). I also love One Tree Hill. I'm sad the finale is next week already!
Hi Kate! Nice to "meet" you. I LOVE the name Haley. And yes I of course heard it on OTH, as well as Peyton. It's funny because I never really realized that I liked those names until I heard them somewhere else too. I had heard Peyton a million times on OTH, but when the little girl in "The Game Plan" was named Peyton, I really realized how much I LOVE the name! HA. Go figure. And of course Lorelai, I heard on Gilmore Girls too... names tend to really strike me when I like them. I guess that's a good thing. :) And I am devestated that the finale is next week... it is going to be a long summer, but I am so grateful that they will be back next year!!!
Stumbled on to your blog - if you're talking about ordering TCOYF, I'd say do it! I ordered it way before we tried - its just a nice book to have to tell you whats really going on with your body before you TTC!
