It's Monday. Seriously, it is. I know, I can't believe it either. I am thankful though for the amazing long, holiday weekend that we enjoyed thoroughly. First things first- Guinness is much better today. {thanks again everyone for you concern and lovely thoughts about him.} The shots from the vet really helped, and we also started giving him Benadryl on Thursday per the vets instructions which I think helped tremendously. As of this morning he only has a few bumps left and they are much smaller than they were at first, so great news all around. The hubs is calling the vet today and I'm sure we will take him again this week just to ensure everything is okay. {We did notice that one of the bumps on the top of his head- looked and felt different from all the others, we are thinking that he may have been bitten by a bug or stung by a bee that might have caused this all to begin with.... I guess it doesn't really matter at this point, but it makes me feel better to come to any sort of conclusion.} So he slept most of the weekend, while his parents on the other hand did not do much of....

Thursday night our gang headed downtown to a party at a friend's house that is an annual tradition on the night of the fireworks. Lots of people from high school attend as well, but usually we end up talking to each other. Sadly I do not have a lot of pictures from the event {keg beer gets to me} but here is one of Caitlin and I:

And then we venture down to the river for the fireworks:

We were so directly underneath them this year that ashes were falling all over us. It was pretty amazing though:

On Friday, the hubs had to work so G and I vegged out on the couch for most of the day {movie reviews to come.} Brian got home early in the afternoon and we did some stuff around the house and then we snuggled back up on the couch with G to watch a movie together.... when much to our dismay, our PS3 froze up. We tried everything-- manuals out, resetting, calling sony {but it was a holiday} online message boards-- when we finally found a chat that implied that the latest firmware update had a bug and was doing this to PS3's all over... it wouldn't recognize anything. So I was upset that afternoon that we couldn't watch our movie {it was a Bluray and we only have the PS3 for a Bluray player} however it is still under warranty so hopefully we won't have any issues with getting a new one or getting this one fixed. I did later realize though... that everything does happen in 3's-- first the central air unit, then the PS3, what next?? {I might also add that I have not called about the ac and it is like a sauna in our house... this is on the agenda for today and I am not looking forward to it.}

Anywho, we spent the rest of the afternoon vegged out on the couch and watched the nearby Country Club's fireworks that night from the front porch. Very nice. We also gave G a nice, cool bath outside. I can only imagine what he is thinking here... his face says it all.

Then Saturday, we packed up and headed to Milwaukee for Summerfest!!!!! 2 cars, 8 people, walky talkies, lots of stops and jamming out made for a very entertaining ride. :)

Here we are enjoying our afternoon at Summerfest and pumped to see......
TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS!!!!!

Yes, that's right. I did say Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!!! Whoo Hooo!!!

Here's the girls... pumped and ready!!

Whoo hoooo!!!!!

The boys jamming out hardcore!!

My throat still hurts from all the singing/screaming:

It was an absolute blast!!!! We all had such a great time. And we just truly have the best group of friends! It's so amazing. Even when my husband had too much to drink and wasn't feeling his best, Andrew made it his duty to help me stand on the bleachers and sing my heart out without falling! HaHa. Picture Andrew holding two women up just so they can sing and dance! Honestly, it just doesn't get better than that. We all love each other and have so much fun together!! We are lucky. :)

Did I mention all the amazing places that we got to eat? Besides drunken Denny's after the show, we also stopped at Bluephies {amazing} and Noodles {which I love!} And of course we made a stop at Trader Joe's and stocked up on Charles Shaw, among other things.

Such a great time!!! Too bad it had to end. Now it's Monday, and it's raining, and there is work to be done. Yikes. Here's Chelsea, signing out-- waiting for next weekend......
