Everytime I get an e-mail notification from Death Cab For Cutie's webmaster that a new music video has been released, I swear my heart stops. It's a mix of excitement + fear {no less, Pity + Fear}. I love all of DCFC's music videos. In fact, that is an understatement. They are the only music videos that I watch {not counting my high school days of TRL & The Box} and that is for good reason. To be honest though, I am still scared every time while I make my way to their media page to check it out. Why, you might ask? I can't even begin to express how much their songs mean to me. The lyrics, the stories behind them, what it means to them while they wrote it, and what it means to me. Time + time again I fear that the video will let me down... perhaps play out the song differently than I envisioned in my head. But time + time again I am left speechless because of their astounding awesomeness. So when I got the e-mail over the weekend that a video was released for Grapevine Fires {my favorite song on Narrow Stairs} I freaked. And now I'm wondering why? This video is the epitome of what the song means to me. I hope you watch it. I hope you love it.
