"waiting for papa" smoothies

I’ve partnered with Dole to share one of the many ways we are staying healthy this year, making smoothies with the kids! Not only do they love picking out what they want in theirs (you really can’t go wrong) and throwing them into the blender, I love watching them slurp down all those fruits and veggies. Smoothies are the perfect answer to that weird time in between getting home from work and daycare, but still hours before dinner time. It keeps their tummies full and they have a delicious snack while they wait for papa to come home from work. Today we mixed up some of the Dole pineapple peach apple mixations with a banana, almond milk, strawberries, a scoop of almond butter, some kale that I threw in while they weren’t looking and a splash of canned pineapple juice. 

Some of our other favorite ingredients are celery, peanut butter, coconut milk, raspberries, blueberries, melon, flax seeds, chia seeds, spinach and apples. The great thing about smoothies is that you don’t need to follow a recipe, just toss in whatever sounds good. The combinations are endless!
