hello?

I promise that I did not intend for my hiatus to last this long. I swear, swear, swear, swear, swear. Things have just been crazy busy around here.. in a good way. I was gone so long, even Blogger is different. Oh, vey! Where, oh where do I begin?

  1. Guinness is loving the change in weather... we have had a lot of 60 degree days, plenty of 70 degree days, and even some 80 degree days around here! Hard to believe I know. My daffodils have already come and gone, and my tulips are in full bloom right now. Yes, I said TULIPS people! It is March 27th.... in Iowa. It is as crazy as it sounds. But we are enjoying it. G's allergies flared up a bit due to the extreme changes (to be expected). But a $200 vet visit last week seems to have done the trick and he is currently sunbathing on the porch.
  2. PEANUT!!! My precious peanut, Kellan, is up to E I G H T  P O U N D S. Yes, you really did read that right. From a little two pound peanut to a whopping eight pounds! He is doing fantastic and lights up my life every time I am with him {and even when I am not}. In fact, I don't think that an auntie has ever loved a nephew as much as I love this little perfect piece of humanity. Tomorrow, finally, is his actual due date, which marks three months in the NICU for him. It has been a trying time, but my sister is doing amazing, and we all cannot wait for him to come home! Hopefully in about a month we will be getting very close to his homecoming!
  3. I put in my two weeks notice at work and am starting a new job in April. Can you believe it? I told you I've been busy. It is kind of whirlwind and honestly happened by chance {read: Teresa}, but I couldn't be happier. Cue DCFC... "the seasons have changed and so have we..."  It has been really hard adjusting to leaving the dear, dear friendships I have established at my current workplace. But I don't think that we will have any problems keeping in touch and already have numerous plans scheduled in our calendars. So, those feelings aside, I am getting really excited for this new opportunity and very anxious to see where it takes me!
  4. I spray painted a plastic elephant with metallic gold paint and have been awestruck by it's awesomeness ever since.
  5. I found a co-op about a mile from Kellan's hospital that sells this stuff by the can and I am a full-on addict. Oh, how they get me.
  6. Dear husband. Well, he is perfect. Sorry... the mush, I know. Okay, well he is still daringly perfect for me and doing just dandy. Very excited about what the future holds for us this summer and even more excited about my most recent endeavor....
  7. The chiropractor. I have been a migraine sufferer my entire life. It's just something that I deal with... I've always dealt with. And it sucks, but, eh. Life goes on. But with all of the crazy migraines that added to the mix this past year {jabs & jolts as the neurologist likes to call it; lightening strikes in my head as I like to call it}, with the addition of a lot of severe neck pain... we knew the time had come for me to finally see a chiropractor. Enter Chelsea's anxiety. For some reason, chiropractors terrify me. No thank you, you do not need to crack my neck, just one step away from brutally murdering me in your run-down doctor's office, thank you. Call it irrational, because that's what it is, but I am a baby. Even though I knew the pain was becoming too much, several MRIs and neurologist visits later, I was just working up the courage to make the appointment. Well lucky me when my dad took it upon himself to make me an appointment for my birthday. Awh, thanks dad! Really, as much as it terrified me, leave it to my dad to know that I needed the extra push. And so I went. So far I am one consultation and one adjustment down and I survived. Hallelujah! My treatment will consist of adjustments and some other crazy shit 3x a week for the next three weeks. So if I go on blogging hiatus again in the next three weeks, just check in to make sure I'm alive, okay? Fingers crossed this thing works for me!
  8. THE. HUNGER. GAMES.  Otherwise known as the movie that made me believe in everything. again. and all at once. at a midnight showing. This deserves it's own post so more to come.
  9. I bought a comic book for the first time in my life. This, I know, really needs an explanation.
Soooooo much more to come. I promise. I'm back ya'll.

So happy to see your nephew doing well! His little face makes me happy and I don't even know him. Tell him we're sending prayers from Michigan!

Not sure if the first comment went through or not, but I'm so excited to see your nephew's little face! It makes my heart light and I don't even know him. :) Tell him we're sending prayers from Michigan.
