my favorite day has arrived again + it is time to celebrate the weekend.

i will be painting the spare room {+ before you can even say anything, the room is sitting, waiting for me right now- all prepped + ready to go... it is getting done!}

i'll also be cracking open a bottle {read: at least two} of mr. shaw. hanging out with my sisters. being jealous of hollie's amazing dress that she made {+ yes she is making me one next}. taking care of my sick hubby. getting lots of sleep. cleaning {finishing} out the garage in between coats of paint. eating lots of meat because this week has been hard. hoping the sun is shining again tomorrow. so I can take lots of pictures outside. making these. finish editing brody's photos. possibly paint our new{ly aquired} antique dresser {if the painting upstairs goes well...} cuddling with my G. making crepes. having a movie marathan. + I think I need to order me one of these {i'm leaning towards this one}.

You didn't think I was done with my wish list did you? Well then obviously you don't know me very well. Three more things that I am actually dying to own....

These shoes are absolutely devine + I must, must, must own them!! Looks like I will be drooling over the pretty picture until they go on sale.... {{fingers crossed}}.

This pretty, pretty pillow would look so good in my new guest room.... grey walls, white bedding, perfect yellow pillow {{sigh}}.

And alas, the perfect cardigan. I think Mangonett's description sums it up quite perfectly... I picture wearing it with a comfy little white tank underneath, just-above the ankle jeans, + some pretty flats while walking through the local market with fresh flowers in one arm + my hubby on the other. It's amazing how a complete day dream can start off with a cardigan.

Remember these gorgeous special edition Penguin books that I posted about a while back??

Well shortly after that post they went completely out of stock in their exclusive store in Europe, and a return was not very promising. But at $30 a pop, I just couldn't fork over the moola for them immediately as much as I would have liked to. Well, needless to say I was a bit bummed when they sold out before I got my chance. But imagine my surprise when earlier this week when Jenny over at Little Green Notebook announced that she had found them at a store in Canada... and at less than half the price!!! I was estatic! And as much as I would have loved to purchase the entire set, since I already own 6 of the books, I was practical and got 4 that I didn't already own.... Madame Bovary; Jane Eyre; Great Expectations; + Picture of Dorian Gray.

I am so excited for them to arrive! Yippie!! And maybe someday I can justify completing my set and buying the rest. But for now I will be happy with the 4 that are on their way to me!

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was sitting here posting about our weekend plans. + now suddenly it's Tuesday + I'm already a day late posting about our actual weekend. Crazy. Our weekend was very enjoyable + relaxing. With everything going on in our lives lately, all I want is just to be with the people that I love, and so.....

Friday night we attended said work Christmas party. A good time was had by all + we returned home exhuasted around 3 a.m.

Saturday the hubs was lucky enough to sleep in until noon. Sadly, I was up around 6 a.m. with excruciating pain in my neck. It had been bothering me for several days + causing headaches- I must have slept on it wrong Friday night which resulted in not being able to turn my head to the left on Saturday morning. So I spent the morning cleaning-- hardcore cleaning. I even cleaned out the fridge. It felt good.

Brian eventually woke up and Hollie came over to hang out. Right behind her was the mailman with -you guessed it- Dark Was The Night! Needless to say we plopped that baby in + jammed out for the next couple of hours.

Then we headed out to run a marathan of errands- but stopped off at a couple record shops first where we walked out with the likes of Elvis Costello; Pink Floyd; Bob Segar; The Eagles; Tom Petty + The Heartbreakers; Journey; Johnny Cash; Simon & Garfunkel; + The National. {SCORE}! Then we preceeded with the errands- dropping off goodies at Goodwill + dropping $300 worth of groceries + other miscellenous items. Then we headed home to put away groceries, + quick get ready for poker night!

The crew {plus awesome new friend Sarah!} headed over, + after the usual photo shoot in the kitchen...

..... we made our way up to the "man cave" for some poker!

I wasn't lying when I said I was going to win. These were my chips....

Hell yes! G was rather bored watching us play poker all night though. Not the attention that he is used to getting...

It was another late night and we headed to bed around 2. Only this time it wasn't a pain in my neck waking me up in the early a.m., but rather my alarm clock. I had plans to meet my mom + sisters at the flea market, so up I got {very sleep deprived + neck still hurting!}

But oh boy, was it worth it! Check the amazing pieces that I scored!!

I will most likely just display the two on the right, but the Duaflex is in excellent condition + I can't wait to use it!! I have actually previously bid on two of these babies on ebay only to be outbid for at least $50. So you can imagine my surprise when I stumbled across this baby. I snagged it in its mint-condition, along with it's original manual, flash + 3 bulbs for $7!!!! I am so excited to use it!!

And of course this beautiful baby. The seller had a box of awesome rings that he found with a metal detector on the beach. Pretty cool! I was more than happy to fork over my $5!

Headed back home to show my honey the loot that I scored + he was very impressed! I of course whipped out the camera so that I could supply you with the lovely images above, but decided to take a few more of some of my favorite things around the house too. What can I say? I do love my camera. Now if only Spring would hurry up so I could take my happy-snapping baby outside. But in the meantime...

I love this one of Hollie...

Kirby was headed to a friend's house, but Hollie spent the day with us again {she just loves us so much, right Hol?} We headed out for breakfast and then stopped at Lowe's to pick up some paint for the spare room {yes, finally!} While we were at Lowe's we checked out the rug section {because we always do because we need a rug for our bedroom + can never find the right thing, or the right price} and low + behold.... we found the perfect rug at the perfect price! It was an interesting ride home with a gigantic white fluffy rug in the car, but we mangaged + it was definitely worth it! We love it!!!

Did I mention G loves it too?!?

The remainder of our night was spent pigging out on the couch + watching the Oscars. And of course, Hollie + I rewatched all parts with Robert Pattinson over + over! Yes!
