On a much more serious note, many of you know that we live in Iowa and have all our lives. I'm sure you have heard that there are many devastating floods right now in our area and all around us... we have been under flash flood warnings for weeks. Fortunately, the city that we live in has been okay so far, but many around us are suffering tremendously... losing their homes, businesses, vehicles, lives. The Red Cross is even struggling to provide enough assistance to all in need. Any donations right now are appreciated more than I can even begin to understand. The site is just astounding and there are no words to explain it. Here are some shots of surrounding areas; Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Burlington {all courtesy of Des Moines Register.}

Please keep Iowa in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the rest of the country that is suffering from these devastating waters. I am so proud to be part of a community that is sticking together and working together to save our state. Anything that you can do to help will go a long way.

Its so hard to even fathom what is happening. I have no idea what I would do if where I lived flooded. The town I work in had really high waters after winter and there was some flooding but nothing near how horrible it is there.
I hope you remain safe!
